8 Ways to Conserve Water

  1. Fill a pitcher with water and keep it in the refrigerator. This way, anytime someone wants a drink of cold water, they won’t have to run water in the sink.
  2. Fill a pan with water to wash fruits and vegetables in.
  3. Clean outdoor walkways or driveways with a broom instead of the hose
  4. Check outdoor faucets and hoses for leaks.
  5. Limit the time you shower to 7-10 minutes.
  6. Put food coloring in your toilet tank. If it seeps into the toilet bowl without flushing, you have a leak.
  7. Reuse one cup for drinking water each day to decrease the number of cups to be washed.
  8. When you are brushing your teeth, turn the water off until you need to rinse.
